I love exploring different yarn shops. Simply exploring yarn shops was what began my desire to try knitting in the first place. It began in Williamsburg, Va, but now whenever I travel I try to stop by the local yarn shop and pick up some local yarn.
There are several yarn shops in the DC area, but I want to share with you, one in particular, my local yarn shop Fibre Space. This yarn shop is located in Old Town, Alexandria. It is my favorite because it has a very cool vibe. The people who work there are all young, trendy, and helpful. They have an amazing selection of yarn and handmade buttons. They provide classes, including ones on color theory. The shop has a lounge area where you can just relax, knit and socialize. It has a variety of different books, a reference computer, and free wifi.
